Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited (EPQL) is a 217 MW combined-cycle power plant that forms a key part of Engro Energy’s portfolio of efficient and resource-optimized assets. It is the first green facility in Pakistan that utilizes high-sulphur permeate gas from Qadirpur Gas Field, which was previously being wasted. EPQL has become one of the lowest opportunity-cost thermal power plants in Pakistan. It reflects Engro Energy’s commitment to innovative, cost-effective solutions that enhance energy security while reducing environmental impact. EPQL is 69% owned by Engro Corporation through Engro Energy.
The plant features a 127 MW gas turbine, a 110 MW steam turbine, and a 400 tons/hour Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), enabling it to maximize thermal efficiency while maintaining operational flexibility. High-speed diesel (HSD) is used as a backup fuel.

The Management Committee (MANCOM) is headed by the CEO and includes the functional heads of all departments. The Committee meets to discuss EPQL’s performance and works in an advisory capacity to the CEO.
