Thar Foundation: In 2016, the Government of Sindh, in collaboration with companies engaged in Thar coal projects, established an organization called Thar Foundation to improve the standards of living of the people of Tharparkar through graduated and sustainable interventions. Thar Foundation, the CSR arm of Block II entities, drives community investments to improve the quality of life in Tharparkar through inclusive development initiatives.

We have adopted the UNDP Sustainable Development Framework with the goal of transforming Islamkot into a poverty-free zone. In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our vision is to partner with specialized organizations to build a healthier, more prosperous Thar — with a focus on communities surrounding the mining and power projects.

The SDGs represent a global call to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all. Every Thar Foundation initiative is designed to address multidimensional poverty in Block-II and its surroundings through a robust public-private partnership model
