Engro Energy was established in 2008 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Engro Corporation to lead strategic investments in Pakistan’s energy sector. With a portfolio spanning power generation, mining, and energy services, the company plays a central role in addressing the country’s growing demand for reliable and affordable energy.
As part of its mission, Engro Energy pioneered the development of Pakistan’s first open-pit lignite mine and 2×330 MW power plants in Thar Block II. In addition, the company owns and operates a 217 MW combined-cycle power plant in Qadirpur. These projects demonstrate not only our engineering and project delivery capabilities but also our commitment to creating solutions that address the nation’s long-term energy needs.
