Manzoor, a former investment banking guru, joined the Engro Group over 5 years ago. He has been associated with the Engro Energy business from 2014 where he served as EPTL’s CFO. In his 3-year tenure as CFO, he played an instrumental role in achieving the financial close of the project. As the financial lead of the project, Manzoor led negotiations and concluded all financing terms and documents. He also played active part in negotiation of key project documents including PPA, IA, CSA etc. and tariff analysis/acceptance. Post-FC, in addition to his role of CFO, he also steered the team in Commercial matters and served as the focal point for all commercial matters related to the EPC contractor. In 2018, he was moved to Engro Energy as General Manager, Business Development where he continued overseeing commercial aspects of EPTL in addition to looking after new business initiatives in Thar. He was made CEO of EPTL in August 2019 after COD of the project.
Manzoor’s 11 years of investment banking experience along with long term association with the Thar project have enabled him to deeply comprehend and work through the intricacies of the project and manage them accordingly. Together with his prior investment banking experience of project financing, extensive experience of IPPs financing, debt syndications and capital markets, Manzoor is well suited for the role assigned to him.
