Fatima Khushnood is the General Manager Business Development at Engro Energy Limited where she heads the business intelligence function focusing on policy issues, research and new business growth opportunities.
With a PhD. in Finance from University of Western Australia, Fatima Khushnood has almost two decades of rich experience spanning across various sectors including banking; hospitality; consultancy, telecommunications and capital markets. She joined Engro Energy in 2020 and was previously serving as the CEO of Independent Power Producer Association (IPPA). Prior to that, she was working in various senior leadership capacities with Sector Skills Council – Renewables Energy; Aga Khan Group, Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
Over the past decade, Fatima has also been part of various forums, think tanks and platforms for discussions on policy sector issues. These include OICCI Power Subgroup Committee – Market Reforms & Liberalization; Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDs), Oxford University; Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX); Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP); and Committee for Promoting Financing Inclusion in Non-Bank Financial Markets.
She is frequently invited as resource person on various forums given her expertise in the energy sector; financial markets and issues such as gender diversity & inclusion. In her free time, Fatima is an avid reader and likes to spend time trekking and playing badminton.
